Tales in verse, each sprinkled with about ten short tunes, tell about the adventures of Andy and his dog Shadow who
"love to follow any road to see what they can see." They always
seem to find someone in trouble. Sometimes Andy can help. Sometimes
not. But he always learns something from the adventure. The short
tunes are sung by T Moody.
A popular technique to help young learners read better. There are half a dozen different
interpretations of "read-along." Ours is:
easy-to-read print and not too much text at a time, reading words for both story and song, repeated
and rhyming words, and expanding the vocabulary by pictures and context so the word is a concept, not a memorized item.
AFTER THE TALE IS OVER:
Read-along is most effective if there is follow-up by a parent, teacher, sibling or friend. For this purpose we include, at no extra cost, a few suggestions for after-the-movie conversational activity between the learner and appropriate relative, teacher or friend to maximize the learning.
