ITINERARY
FOR EXPLORING EUROPE FRANCE, NORWAY, WALES
FRANCE
1) The Coasts of Winds and War Arrival in Dieppe, the ivory museum, the excellent aquarium, the International Kite Festival, then a drive down the coast to the World War II memorials, then inland to a B&B on a dairy farm near Formigny.
2) Naturally in Normandy Sight-seeing in Normandy, the
Bayeux tapestry, a delicious lunch at the Lion d'Or before visiting Féronnerie d' Art La Forge to see blacksmith artistry. Another day, always enjoying rich Normandy cuisine, to Rabodanges to watch white-water kayaking slaloms, a French Olympic sport, an excursion to a deer farm in Eure, returning through Trévières to visit a master potter. Then the medieval festival and the re-enactment of the Battle of Formigny that ended the 100 Years War.
3) Bon jour, Burgundy! Across France by train to Dijon in Burgundy. Excursions to Arnay le Duc and its Regional House of Food and Tableware, to Is-sur-Tille where truffle dogs compete and an annual crossword puzzle festival is held, to Alise-Sainte-Reine where Vercingetorix defeated Julius Caesar, to the beautiful Château dAncy-le-Franc as well as Bazoches and Montjalin, a horseback ride through the great nature preserve, Morvan Park, and all the while, Burgundy cuisine.
4) Bouquets and Beaches From a former hunting lodge,
exploring Burgundy south, the museum dedicated to Nièpce, father of photography, the vineyards of Louis La Tour, making wine for nearly 300 years, and a 4-wheeler race in
Seurre before heading south to Cannes, the French Riviera, to the artists' favorite
town, Mougins, and to Grasse, perfume center of the world with a workshop in creating your own scent.
NORWAY
1) Blue Ice Arriving in Bergen and then on to Fjaerdahl,
the Norwegian Glacier Museum and a guided "Blue Ice" half-day hike on Nigard
Glacier.
2) Å A visit to the Norwegian Salmon Center, then north
to the Lofoten Islands and the small village of Å, population 150, to stay in a rorbu
and do some deep sea fishing, hike, canoe, and explore.
3) Trumpets and Trolls All the way to Hammerfest, the North Cape, and the Samis, then south to Trondheim, ancient Viking stronghold, a visit to a troll factory and to Norway's Ringve Music Museum with its worldwide collection
of instruments.
4) Schuss! South again to Lillehammer, a premier ski
area with 300 miles of ski runs, cross country and downhill, and Norwegian
ski sweaters for après ski.
WALES
1) Bluff on the Wye Arriving in
Chepstow, hiking along Offa's Dyke Trail, the Wye River, Tintern Abbey to
Trellech Grange, then the Usk Valley to Abergavenny, sheep dogs, Welsh sheep,
and Raglan Castle 
2) Coracles, Caves and Castles
The Forest of Dean and its Sculpture Trail, a train ride through
Brecon Forest to Betws-y-Coed, Llanfair Slate Caverns, Harlech Castle,
Aled Owen's "Ewe-phoria," guest driving on the Ffestiniog Railway, a medieval banquet
at Ruthin Castle
3)Coastlines and Cockle Pies A horseback ride
along the Isle of Anglesey, the Trefiw Woollen Mills, the Pwlhelli Peninsula with its hillforts and Criccieth Castle, a cruise out to see local marine wildlife,
inland to Rhayader for a visit to the Centre for Alternative Technology
and a day of trout fishing 4)Haunts and Rucks Down the
coast to Mumbles, the beautiful National Botanical Gardens of Wales, water sports on the
Pembrokeshire Peninsula, touring Carew Castle, local artists in slate sculpture and
in waterpaintings, Cardiff, the capital, haunted castles and Wales' favorite sport, rugby.
